We are looking for someone who treats coffee as a craft and hospitality as a priority.
Key Responsibilities
Craft Coffee & Beverage Service
Preparation: Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty beverages according to Tierra’s recipes. Precision in dosing, tamping, and steaming milk is essential.
Consistency: Execute drink builds with speed and accuracy, ensuring every cup meets our quality standards, regardless of volume.
Education: Be prepared to answer guest questions about our coffee origins, roasting profiles, and the connection between our morning coffee program and our evening distillery operations.
Café Operations & Maintenance
Equipment Care: Execute opening and closing cleaning protocols for the espresso machine, grinders, and brewing equipment. Maintain a pristine bar station throughout the shift.
Prep Work: Manage daily prep tasks, including making house-made syrups, stocking milk/alternative milks, prepping dry goods, and organizing the café display.
Inventory: Assist the Café Lead in monitoring stock levels for beans, syrups, and disposables, flagging low inventory before items run out.
Guest Experience & Brand Representation
Hospitality: Create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Greet regulars by name and offer a high-touch, personalized experience for every guest.
Multitasking: Manage counter service, POS transactions, and beverage prep simultaneously, ensuring wait times remain low during peak hours.
Cross-Promotion: Maintain knowledge of our evening spirit and cocktail offerings so you can effectively "bridge the gap" and encourage morning guests to return for a tasting or tour.
Qualifications
Experience: 1+ years of experience in a specialty or "third-wave" coffee shop.
Technical Skill: Proficiency with semi-automatic espresso machines, grinders, and manual brew methods.
Attention to Detail: You take pride in a clean station and a perfectly poured beverage.
Attitude: Outgoing, reliable, and able to maintain a positive energy during a busy morning rush.
Physical: Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 30 lbs
